learning love

This is a journey into life and love from a Christian perspective. Don't panic, it's the lighthearted side, the fun side, the kind of trip that you pack in advance to take. As in everyday life, some days are better than others and my words will reflect such. This is an account of my heart's song.

A Day of Celebration!!

All I can say is...WOW! What a wonderful day in the Lord! Today marked the beginning of my work in the music ministry in my local church. I guess you could say that it was my choir debut and how marvelous it was! After weeks of practice and development, I was officially able to render praises before the congregation and it was AWESOME! It's been so long since I've actually sang in a choir. Now that I think about it, nearly 4 years actually. And being a former choir director, I've been itching to get back to my first love. All in God's time...

Today's events were multifold. It was the culmination of our 40 Days of Community - The Power of Everybody series and we had an old fashioned (2006 style) outside camp meeting. To be from the south where I believe such camp meetings had their beginnings, it may be suprising to know that this was my first time experiencing an entire service in the beauty of God's nature. The day couldn't have been more perfect. The weather was unthinkable...cool, breezy, bright, and just absolutely gorgeous for a June morning and afternoon. We sang, we praised, we worshipped, heard testimonies, received the WORD, and we sang some more! I couldn't get enough. I truly felt that I was using my gift and that I was in my element. When God's presence is in His people it is the most surreal moment and experience because we are truly knowing God for who He is! So in the words of one of the many songs that we sang today...
I am grateful for thing that you have done
I am grateful for the victories you've won
I could go on and on and on about your works
Because I'm grateful, grateful, so grateful just to praise you Lord
Flowing from my heart are the issues of my heart
Is Gratefulness
Today was indeed a day of celebration!

nice...we've done this song as well...gratefulness is the best worship attitude, IMHO. just to sit back and lat the goodness of God wash over you...gratefulness is the only response...

I feel you! Music is a wonderful tool of worship, and warfare.

Blessed to hear that you had such a blessed debut!
